PMI Certifications

PMI-PBA and PMI-ACP

Project Management Institute (PMI®) is the world’s leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project, program and portfolio management profession. They currently offer eight certifications, for which, two are related to those individuals performing the role of business analysis.

B2T Training is a registered Education Provider for PMI and provides training for 2 of the certifications: PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).

Certification Requirements

The PMI-PBA certification is a new certification to highlight your expertise in business analysis. The exam is a competency based credential which assesses the integrated set of knowledge, skills and abilities as gained from both practical and learned experiences. There is not currently a body of knowledge for this certification. For specific/up to date requirements, please visit their website at pmi.org.

Education BackgroundRequirements
High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7,500 hours working as a practitioner of business analysis in the last 8 years

  • 2,000 hours working on project teams in the last 8 years. May be inclusive of the 7,500 hours above

  • 35 hours of training in Business Analysis
Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 4,500 hours working as a practitioner of business analysis in the last 8 years

  • 2,000 hours working on project teams in the last 8 years. May be inclusive of the 4,500 hours above

  • 35 hours of training in Business Analysis

PMI-ACP Certification

Certification Requirements

The PMI-ACP certification is a certification which recognizes knowledge of agile principles, practices, tools and techniques across agile methodologies. The exam tests knowledge of agile fundamentals. There is not currently a body of knowledge for this certification. For specific/up to date requirements, please visit their website at pmi.org.

Agile Project Experience1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies in the last 3 years. These hours are in addition to the 2,000 hours required in “general project experience”
