…when all through the office,
Not a BA to spare, not even a novice.
The markers were placed by the whiteboard with care,
In hopes that my team soon would be there;
The stakeholders were nestled all ready for our session,
While feelings of anticipation showed in their expression.
And my PM in his suit, and I in my dress,
Had just settled our brains for a day to impress.
When out of the conference room there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter.
Away to the door I flew like a flash,
Stumbled a little and tripped over the trash.
The fluorescents lit up like ready for a show
Gave a curious aura to projects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But my product owner and QA engineer,
With a look in their eyes of project changes,
I knew in a moment there’d be lots of exchanges.
More rapid than eagles his ideas they came,
And he whistled, and shouted and called them by name:
“Less money! Now April! More features and functions!
On budget! On time! And with no malfunctions!”
To the top of the podium and writing on the wall,
“Now get to work! Get to work! Get to work all!”
Up to the occasion I’ll fly,
When met with these obstacles, I know I can get by.
For these requirements are nothing new,
And I have skills and knowledge, and patience too!
My eyes – how they twinkled! I was ready to go!
The project was starting and time for the show!
I collected my thoughts and began to speak;
I had prepped for this meeting for more than a week.
I closed out the meeting with a nod of each head,
For everyone knew, there was a lot of hard work to dread;
I spoke not a word, and went straight to my cube,
Because, nothing comes from a bad attitude.
I sprang to my keyboard and began to type,
So much to plan and people to hype!
At the end of the day, as the office fell from sight,
I thought…”Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good night!”
Thank you for sharing in our BA Community this year! We wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday season.
