Business Analysis Through Improvisation
Improvisation is the practice of acting, singing, talking and reacting in the moment and in response to the stimulus of one’s immediate environment. Talking and reacting in the moment is the core of what you do as a business analyst. To propel to the senior level of your profession you need to continually improve how you interact and communicate with your stakeholders in your immediate environment.

This highly interactive and fun session focuses on key improvisation lessons that will help you be a better business analyst. You will walk away with lessons to help you stay in the present, say “Yes, and…” instead of “Yes, but…”, and listen generously.

Session objectives

  • The ability to think on your feet and keep a conversation moving forward
  • Learn lessons that will help you establish and strengthen your relationships
  • Gain confidence in being in front of an audience of 1 to 100

Agile and the BA, Panel Discussion facilitated by Angie Perris, CBAP

Please join Angie Perris and our panel of experienced practitioners who will shed light on how agile projects impact your role as a BA. You can assist our panel by posing questions like: How much documentation is necessary on an agile project? What techniques are being used?  Are BA skills needed on an agile team? If so, how do expectations differ than on a traditional project team? Are the elicitation and analysis techniques performed different than in traditional business analysis? How does a BA complete analysis in a 14 day iteration?  Please join us.

The panel discussion will focus on 3 learning objectives:

  • How a BA adds value on an agile team
  • What would a typical day include for a BA on an agile project
  • What paradigm shift a BA needs to make to be successful on an agile team
