Olya Broadwell has a strong technology background balanced with marketing and entrepreneurial experience. Over the last ten years she has provided training in the areas of business analysis and modeling, and conducted many pre- and post-sales seminars. Her twenty years of industry experience includes actuarial, telecommunications and defense companies, internet product providers and software development companies. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. with majors in Computer Systems Management and Finance. She has a unique balance of technology and business experience to share with her students.

Kathy Claycomb brings nearly 20 years of IT experience to the classroom. She has participated in all phases of application development across a wide variety of platforms, and has used numerous methodologies to analyze, design and implement systems. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and has worked in transportation, training, and software development organizations.

Kathy’s first love is teaching, and throughout her career she has always managed to spend a portion of her time instructing. She has an engaging, highly interactive teaching style that ensures students leave the course with a thorough grasp of the material. Her students consistently praise her teaching abilities and her talent for drawing on her personal experience to enhance their learning.

Alison (Ali) Ibarguen has 19 years of experience in various areas, including business analysis, project methodology development and training, systems development (mainframe, client-server, and web), and telecommunications management. Alison began her career in the financial services area, and then moved into systems development for accounting systems. In the late 1980s, she worked in Spain with Ernst & Young as a consultant, where she began developing and presenting business analysis and project management training in Spanish. She has provided consulting for small companies to Fortune 500 corporations.

Alison is also a partner of TEMSS (Telecommunications Efficiency Management Strategies and Services), which provides telecommunications efficiency auditing and billing analysis services to clients in all areas of business across the United States. She completed her Master of Business Administration in MIS and Accounting from the University of Georgia.

“Kupe” Kupersmith, President, B2T Training, possesses over 14 years of experience in software systems development. He has served as the lead Business Analyst and Project Manager on projects in the Energy, television and sports management and marketing industries. Phillip Latka is an energetic Business Analyst who has over 10 years experience training and mentoring junior BA’s through to Directors of Business Analysis. He excels in defining and delivering complex business and technology solutions into start-ups and established companies in various industries including, government, non-profit, financial services, banking, technology and telecommunications.

In addition to his training and consulting roles, he has established Business Analysis Centers of Excellence and assessed Business Analysts for large organizations. His multinational accomplishments reflect a unique blend of technical vision, practical business acumen and expertise in applying structured methodologies.

Phillip teaches structured Methodologies for the Project Management Institute (PMI); is one of the first Certified Business Analysis Professionals (CBAP) in Australia; and has served on the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA).

With over 18 years experience in management consulting and human resources, Fonda Emigh Mangino has worked with Fortune 100 and 500 companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young and Mercer. Her background is primarily in the energy, transportation, and manufacturing industries. There she focused on executing business change, project/program management, business analysis, requirements and design, as well as methodology development and deployment.

Fonda received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Fort Hays State University and her Master of Education from Texas Woman’s University. Some of her certifications include ITIL, CPF, and SPHR.

Fonda is passionate about helping people learn techniques and tools that will work for them in their own particular business environment. He also coaches software development teams, product development teams in their adoption of and improvement using agile principles, techniques, and approaches.

Kent co-founded the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN). He is co-author of Stand Back and Deliver: Accelerating Business Agility, a book that brings together immediately usable frameworks and step-by-step processes that help organizations deliver business value and build competitive advantage. Kent is Conference Chair for Agile 2013, was Program Chair for the Agile 2011 Conference in addition to having chaired the Central Iowa Business Analyst Development Day 2009. Kent is a recognized, highly requested, industry speaker within the Business Analysis, Project Management and Agile communities.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from Kent State University.

Kate McGoey, Director, Client Solutions, B2T Training, has more than 20 years’ experience in different application development and lifecycle process positions, but finds business analysis is her passion and professional center of gravity.  Winner of the inaugural Requirements Lifecycle Award from requirements.net, Kate has both internal back-office and commercial software product development experience.  She has performed principal BA or PM roles on technology projects and improvement initiatives serving the management consulting, publishing, life sciences and business services industries.

Kate has been a panelist and featured speaker at BA industry conferences, and a presenter at local IIBA chapter meetings.  Discussion topics at these sessions have included professional development, mentoring and career paths for BAs; creating and managing BA Centers of Excellence; effective use of requirements tools on projects; and critical foundations for requirements success.

With more than 30 years of experience in all phases of systems development, Elaine combines enthusiasm for teaching with product knowledge to captivate her audience.

After receiving a Mathematics degree from the University of Georgia, Elaine began her career as a programmer in a manufacturing company. She quickly advanced to systems analyst, business analyst, project leader and instructor. Her vast industry experience includes software development, insurance, and energy companies, as well as work on government projects. She has worked with Ernst & Young as a consultant and trainer. For the past dozen years Elaine has equipped hundreds of students to handle all facets within a project life cycle.

With teaching certification in SAP, BAAN, Oracle and Siebel, along with teaching experience in data and process modeling and facilitated session leader training, it is easy to see why clients continue to request Elaine for their classroom.

Paul Mulvey, Director, Client Solutions, B2T Training, has been involved in business analysis since 1995, achieving CBAP designation with the IIBA in 2010. He has served as the lead Business Analyst on projects in several business domains, including sales, marketing, pricing, incentives, customer service, real estate, and CRM. Projects included both custom development and purchased packages.

During his tenure at a large logistics organization, he was one of the founding members of the BA Center of Excellence, and developed the global BA competency operating model. Paul has been a mentor and coach to BAs for over 11 years, and has taught foundational BA skills, business process modeling, use case modeling, BA Measurement, and communication techniques. One of the hallmarks of his communication style is to break down complicated processes and concepts into understandable analogies and explanations. Jacqueline Sanders has provided training and mentoring throughout her career in the areas of business analysis, database administration, data analysis and process improvement. She earned her Bachelors in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University. Jacqueline possesses over 20 years experience working on projects, using various methodologies and models including agile, RAD, waterfall, object-oriented, UML, work flow automation and CMMI. She has held roles of business analyst, project manager, program manager, tester, DBA, developer and process analyst.

As a guest instructor, Jacqueline uses her experience in the classroom to help bring to life the work of the business analyst. She is as enthusiastic about learning as she is about teaching and she exhibits an interactive teaching style to ensure students leave the class energized and motivated to implement the lessons learned. Jacqueline is a published author and is currently finishing her second book in a series of books related to Intelligent Process Improvement (IPI).

Pam Swent has 25 years of experience providing training and consulting services in all phases of systems development methodologies. Pam began her career as an instructor in a computer school and then moved into a 15-year programming career at a prominent financial institution in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Here she developed systems methodologies, trained end-users, facilitated Joint Application Development sessions and served as an internal corporate consultant on a wide variety of MIS issues. In addition, Pam wrote numerous articles and has spoken at national process modeling conferences.

In 1998, she joined Deliotte and Touche Consulting. Two years later, she formed Swent Consulting LLC which provides system development consulting and project management services to clients in the financial services sector. Today she splits her time between her consulting business and B2T Training. This allows Pam to balance the challenges of consulting with the training work she enjoys so much.
