Kudo's to you, Janesh, for taking the most direct approach to solve your problem. There is nothing better than face-to-face communication for something urgent as you described. Additionally I loved your advice about emails. We should all think twice before hitting the "send" button.

I could not agreed with you more on this.

I had a very tight deadline in my last project and we needed the team's effort more than ever to meet this deadline. The deadline had been pushed back multiple times due to many reasons, but this time there was no room for a delay.

We needed the guidance of Product Owner to solve critical issues instantly. Inspite of my many emails/meeting invites it was difficult to get his interaction. But then one day I just walked up to his office and asked him to schedule a weekly meeting(similar to your situation) to keep track of things and make ourselves proactive and not reactive.

Also, based on his comments about too many emails from me, I thought twice everytime before emailing this person in future. My emails would have "bulleted" information to catch his attention along with "Action Required" paragraph. The whole point here was to try and personalize emails for him to get his interaction.

Also, I have learned that if you are still waiting for a response then shooting another email with something like "Please tell me how can I help you to get your feedback?" really helps. This indicates that you are willing to help to be helped.

And yes these changes worked out very well for my project :)
